Concepts

CONCEPT 1

For this concept, I have decided to take a more gloomy dull background and pictures with a lot but not too much happening. They don’t have much shapes, but there prominent shapes is what I will be working on. I plan to find the basic shapes in the figures and decipher which one I will use, such as the road for example. The roads obviously don’t have a lot of prominent shapes, but I plan on getting some triangles and some distorted rectangles, but mostly triangles. For the landscape photos, they will mostly consist of small squares and all different types of squares. The building will be kind of a backup for the squares and triangles just in case things go out of order.

 

Concept 2

So for concept 2, I decided to use the figurative approach and took some self portraits of myself. For each selfie, I decided to get each picture at a different angle and tried to make it look distinct from the others. From these angles, I will decipher each shape in my face and decide which one is best. For example, the nose could be a triangle, the ear some type of oval, the cheeks could be a slanted trapezoid, etc. I really want to try and get creative with this one if it appears to be my favorite overall.

 

Concept 3

Concept 3 has definitely been my favorite so far out of all of them. I took a bunch of pictures of my pond in my backyard from different angles, I think it looks great. It may not be visible but there is a lot of different very hidden shapes in the lake and around the area. The trees and clouds work perfectly, and I think the sun’s reflection actually will help me in the long run of the making of this project. I can’t wait to see what this comes out to be, all the hidden shapes are going to work great.

 

Concept 4

Concept 4 and 5 falls under the categories of still life, something I am quite familiar with. I tired to think of objects that both emit light and have a lot of different shapes in them. However I wanted the items to be not too big but decent size, and I think I found the right two objects. The first one is a flashlight with many several upgrades the standard flashlight does not have. This consists of many different shapes, even in the lights! I have a pretty good idea where this object is going to take me.

Concept 5

The final concept and pictures that I have is of my game remote. Like the flashlight, the ps4 remote has a blue light and I am really happy I found two objects like this with very similarities. This has to be my second favorite for many reasons. It is simple, consists of many different shapes and even drawn out shapes. The angles and lighting are great, so you can see the whole ps4 remote and all its different angles. Also, it will fit into the other pictures just fine, and it is also the picture consisting of the most shapes in it. The remote is a perfect object for this.
